As an affiliated program of the University of Maryland School of Law, Civil Justice was one of the earliest efforts of the Law School Consortium Project (LSCP). The LSCP is comprised of an expanding group of law schools interested in designing, evaluating, and promoting programs that extend the educational and professionalism missions of law schools beyond graduation to train, mentor, and provide other support to community solo and small-firm lawyers. By supporting this segment of the legal profession, the LSCP ultimately seeks to increase the availability of quality legal services for low and moderate-income individuals and communities.
