Free Training on Representing Employees in Wage and Hour Disputes - January 12, 2018

The Public Justice Center and Civil Justice are delighted to present a free training for Maryland attorneys on representing employees in wage theft cases on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at UM Carey Law.  Please click here for a flyer.

The training will cover the relevant basics of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Maryland Wage and Hour Laws, and provide practical guidance for identifying strong individual and class action wage theft cases.  We will also discuss the relevant fee shifting provisions of the statutes and how those provisions allow attorneys to generate fees from these types of cases.

Finally, we will be discussing Civil Justice’s new referral platform, JusticeReferrals.org, which will allow private lawyers and legal services non-profits to review the details of potential matters that are posted by legal services non-profits or other private lawyers.  The Public Justice Center and Civil Justice will be placing wage theft cases using JusticeReferrals.org, which greatly simplifies connecting clients with interested attorneys.  To read more about JusticeReferrals.org, which is free to Maryland legal services lawyers and private lawyers affiliated with them, including Civil Justice members, see http://www.civiljusticenetwork.org/Programs/JusticeReferrals.aspx.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Carrie McCully at cmccully@civiljusticenetwork.org or at (410) 706-0174
